The Texas Star Tribune is an independently owned, independently run, online news site headquartered in Kerrville, Texas. It is owned and operated by its parent company, Trans-Texas Online Media Group, L.L.C. Although its principal business address is in Kerrville, the TST has correspondents and staff writers situated across the state of Texas and the United States.
Our goal is simple: to provide, in a fair and impartial manner, in-depth statewide, national and international coverage of the latest stories and developments in news, politics, business, sports, weather, entertainment and other areas of interest.
In furtherance of this goal, we have contracted with news services, and employed writers, who provide content which goes beyond that normally found on most news sites. While it is possible we may occasionally encounter circumstances that force us to cut back on the quantity of content on this site, we can assure that we will never sacrifice the quality of our reports, features and columns.
Our publication is founded upon several guiding principles:
1. We believe in, and are committed to defending, each individual’s rights as set forth in the Constitution of the United States and its subsequent amendments. We believe these rights are divinely given and, as such, are inalienable.
2. We believe it is no coincidence that when our forefathers adopted the Bill of Rights in 1791, first among those were the freedoms of speech and of the press. It is, perhaps, stated best in Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, “Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference, and impart information and ideas through any media regardless of frontiers"
3. We believe in, and have adopted, the Code of Ethics of the Society of Professional Journalists. We believe every news and media organization has a responsibility to uphold the principles of truthfulness, accuracy, objectivity, impartiality, fairness and public accountability.
4. We believe that by offering an entirely paperless online news site, we are fulfilling our duty, as inhabitants of this planet, to conserve our natural resources wherever possible.
Thank you for visiting our site and we hope you will make texasstartribune.com your online home for news and information.
